The proposed solution of this project is to develop a drone that communicates with the ShotSpotter technology, to provide a more prompt and accurate response regarding if a gunshot has been detected. Using the communication of the ShotSpotter, the drone will work autonomously to navigate out to an area, and provide real-time video and image capture to provide information to law enforcement for a rapid situational assessment. With current technology and the cost of drones, the team plans to create a cost-efficient drone to allow better accessibility for advanced gunshot detection technology. This approach plans on improving public safety by creating a device that reduces the response time along with minimizing the risk of human error, and to create a reliable device by implementing the automated fix which will aid law enforcement by addressing gun-related incidents effectively and efficiently.
