The Coordinated Response and Information Sharing Intelligence System (CRISIS) Management Toolset is a real-time common operating picture that can be established by combining drones, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Tactical Awareness Kit (TAK)/Android Tactical Awareness Kit (ATAK) applications—eliminating delays associated with traditional methods. This approach allows large-scale search and rescue operations to be organized and launched immediately following a destructive event. Drones (the hardware) have the ability to gather massive amounts of data and access otherwise inaccessible areas. AI and TAK (the software) can ingest and communicate that data at local, state, and national levels, who can then make decisions and direct drones, volunteers, and first responders in how to respond most efficiently and effectively. This integrated cooperative hardware-human-AI teaming approach and toolset, we can empower and inform all parties affected by natural disasters with tools that minimize the human cost and expedite assistance and restoration to normalcy.
