
This project, a collaboration between Binghamton University and the City of Binghamton, aims to advance Smart City initiatives through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics. By providing comprehensive training for city workers, the program equips them with the skills to utilize AI and data-driven solutions for enhancing urban operations. Key applications include optimizing traffic management, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing public safety through the use of IoT devices and predictive analytics. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on projects, ethical AI practices, cybersecurity, and inclusivity, ensuring equitable access to Smart City technologies while prioritizing data privacy and security. By leveraging expertise from both academic researchers and industry professionals, this initiative fosters innovation and positions Binghamton as a leader in Smart City development. The project’s outcomes are designed to create a responsive, sustainable, and interconnected urban environment that improves the quality of life for all residents.
