Abstract

The ERIS TAK Adapter enhances the Tactical Awareness Kit (TAK) by providing hands-free situational awareness (with eyewear) through augmented reality (AR). Designed to seamlessly integrate TAK data across multiple platforms—including iOS, Android, drones, and AR headsets—ERIS allows first responders to visualize critical information directly in their environment. Instead of relying on static maps, responders can see real-time data like Points of Interest (POIs), live video feeds, weather data, and IoT sensor inputs overlaid onto their surroundings, improving decision-making and response times. This cross-platform solution works seamlessly with mobile devices, drones, and AR headsets, ensuring that responders have instant access to the information they need, no matter the device. Thanks to the Augmented Reality adapter, ERIS reduces cognitive load and enables first responders to stay focused on the task at hand, making it a powerful tool for improving safety and coordination in smart city environments.
